Concrete Pool Deck Leveling in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill

If the concrete around your pool has started to sink or shift, it’s more than just an eyesore. It’s a real trip hazard. Uneven edges, sunken sections, and gaps between slabs are pretty common around pools, and they tend to get worse over time if nothing’s done.

A big part of the issue comes from how pools are built. The soil around the pool gets dug out and then filled back in, which means it’s usually not as compact as the original ground. Over time, that soil settles under the weight of the concrete deck, and that’s when you start seeing dips and uneven spots.

The good news is you don’t have to tear everything out to fix it. We use a polyurethane foam injection process to lift and level your existing pool deck. We drill small holes in the concrete and inject a high-density foam underneath. As it expands, it fills empty space and gently raises the slab back into place, all while helping stabilize the soil below.

Compared to replacing your pool deck, this is faster, cleaner, and a whole lot less disruptive. No heavy equipment tearing up your yard, no waiting days or weeks for new concrete to cure, and in most cases, your pool area is ready to use the same day.

If your pool deck is starting to settle, it’s worth getting it checked out before it becomes a bigger safety issue. Give us a call at 919-322-9459 or click below to schedule a free, no-pressure inspection in Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and nearby areas.

Sunken Pool Deck
Sinking concrete around a pool is a common problem that creates trippint hazards.

Causes of a sinking concrete pool deck

Many concrete pool decks are prone to settling because of the pool construction process. The backfill soil that’s added around the pool excavation will not be as dense or well-compacted as the undisturbed soil. When a heavy concrete slab is poured around the pool, loose soil will often compress under the slab’s weight, causing sections of the concrete to sink or settle.

Concrete pool deck restoration with polyurethane foam

Some contractors still use the old-school repair methods for settled concrete. They use heavy equipment to demolish the cracked, settled sections of concrete around your swimming pool, and pour a new concrete deck. With concrete replacement you often get a damaged yard and a pool that's off limits until the new concrete hardens and cures. Our concrete leveling method saves you time and money, and won't disrupt your landscaping. Injecting polyurethane expanding foam beneath a settled pool deck will raise the concrete back to proper level and also strengthen the soil so that the problem won't recur.

How polyurethane foam works to repair your settled pool deck

Our Poly Foam is a high-density expanding foam that our technicians can use to raise settled concrete. The two-part polyurethane foam mixture is injected through small holes drilled in the settled concrete. Our installers are trained to control the injection process so that just enough foam is used to re-level the concrete deck. Because the foam’s expanding action fills voids in loose soil, this concrete leveling technique improves the soil’s stability and load-bearing characteristics. You can feel confident that settlement won’t occur again.
